Weekend on the Water

I'm headed to the lake this weekend to dip my toes in the water and catch a cool breeze.  Last night, I put together a few nibbles for the trip, including the  Rosemary and Chili Roasted Walnuts from The Art of the Party.  Simple to make with just five ingredients (that I happened to have on hand), this appetizer is a slightly sweet snack with a spicy finish and just a hint of rosemary.  They're perfect to take on the boat and will definitely make an appearance on my Game Day menu!

My Scout bag is packed with weekend essentials, including those Turkish Towels that I love.  100% cotton with hand-tied fringe, they're unbelievably absorbent and really do go from bath to body to the beach -- or the boat!  And don't you love your Corkcicle?  Triple insulated and shatter-proof, the Corkcicle Canteen will keep a refreshing drink cold for up to 25 hours, so I can sip in style.

One of the newest arrivals in the shop is the Summer Headband from Brooke Wright, and I've packed several to keep my hair tucked and tidy.  Of course, my Peepers Reading Sunglasses are a must-have for reading on the dock.

Are you ready for the weekend? Just to whet your appetite -- here are those walnuts I made last night, dished up in the Mallorca Alabaster Bowl, perfect for casual entertaining and a perennial favorite with brides.  Speaking of brides, look for Rhodes Boutique at the Charleston Bridal Show on Sunday, July 28th from Noon to 4 pm.
