Let’s face it, mom life is messy. There’s this social media persona that everything is neat and perfect and then there’s real life where things get messy and hectic. I think I speak for a lot of mompreneurs that have a hard time trying to balance work life and mom life. There will always be guilt on both sides, but we wouldn’t be happy if we didn’t try to have it all. Being a mother is the most fulfilling job in the world, but being able to do what I love at work is pretty rewarding too. This year my goal was to outsource, limit my industry social events, and maximize my time with my family. Because I can’t do it all, something has to give. So far it’s been working and I haven’t been feeling as overwhelmed. Waking up with gratitude everyday is what motivates me.
This year spoil mom with everything she deserves. Tomorrow on Lowcountry Live I’ll be featuring Mother’s Day gifts from local boutiques that are also owned by real mothers. Tune in to get gift ideas from Woodhouse Day Spa, Gold Creations, and Rhodes boutique. Plus we will be giving away over $300 in prizes!
Family matriarch Vicki Wolfe remains the heart and soul of Gold Creations, a Charleston-based jewelry boutique that’s been a fixture in the Market since 1975. She worked full-time on her store while raising her four children — all of whom worked in the store. They carry an array of jewelry at all price points.
Rhodes boutique is a local Boutique in South Windmere owned by Caroline Rhodes and managed by her oldest daughter, McNair Rhodes Somheil. Their close knit relationship has paved the way for a successful business. It has steadily grown from a monogram and gift shop to a full scale clothing and lifestyle boutique. Rhodes Boutique carries an array of ladies apparel lines, accessories, wedding and gift registry, home décor, and continues to offer embroidery services. Rhodes Boutique carries apparel for women in all shape, size and age, in a variety of styles. Their gift and table top selection for home décor is pretty, affordable, and classic with a trendy twist.
All moms need to be pampered and what better way than to send her to Woodhouse Day Spa. Give the gift of relaxation with one of their many services – Facials, Sleep Treatments, Massage Therapy, Body Treatments – wraps, scrubs, Foot Treatments, Hand Treatments, and Waxings. Plus, they make it easy for last minute gifts by offering online gift cards.
I’m looking forward to celebrating both my boys birthdays at the end of this month. Mateo will be turning 12 and Sebastian will be turning 8. #MomLife is about the ups and downs and I couldn’t have picked better kids to ride this crazy roller coaster called life.
